After obtaining my B.S. degree in Fine Art with a minor in Art Education from the University of West Georgia in 1980, I taught in the Georgia Public School System for two years before proceeding to Graduate School. I completed graduate studies in Advertising and Visual Communication at the Portfolio Center in 1983 and immediately joined Liller Neal Advertising and subsequently worked for other national advertising agencies in Atlanta.
From 1986 until 1991, I owned and operated MGM Advertising; an advertising agency in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1987, we took on the task of re-designing several magazines and I fell in love with the publishing business.
Today, I am the managing editor of Las Olas Magazine, Las Olas Spaces and Las Olas Bride, and associate editor of Lincoln Road Magazine. I also freelance as a fashion correspondent for WWD and various industry organizations including the Swimwear Association of Florida.
I am an ADDY award-winning advertising art director and reporter focused on fashion and lifestyle, frequently traveling both for work and to explore hidden shopping treasures and secret destinations. I also provide creative and promotional assistance to many charitable organizations, through my business Fashionable Fundraisers and am an adjunct professor in the Fashion Merchandising Department of The Miami International University of Art & Design.
