FREC AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
2009 Star Gala Drew Nearly 300 Nominations from FREC Memebers, the Community and Partners Worldwide of Industry Professionals Who Are Shaping the Future of South Florida
Miami, FL, Nov. 16, 2009–The Film, Recording and Entertainment Council, Inc., today announce winners of its 2009 FREC Awards. Winners were selected in industry categories based upon career achievements and dedication to improving the Community in South Florida.
Category honorees were recognized with an award presentation ceremony during 2009 Star Gala held at the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in Miami, Florida. Additional information about the Star Gala and FREC Awards is available at www.StarGala.org.

"This year's honorees demonstrated the best South Florida has to offer. We were impressed by the high caliber of projects this year's honorees worked on and how they contributed to the local industry," said FREC's President Miguel Bravo. "The FREC Awards highlight a few of the best. We recognize and congratulate the individuals behind these major local, national and international projects for their remarkable careers and community achievements."
Creative WorkShops founder Stewart Solomon was the w inner of the 2009 FREC Award in the Best Acting Coach category. This is Stewart's twenty-second year teaching acting in the South Florida area. He has coached such notables as Gloria Estefan (most recently as Agent Suarez in the Spanish version of Disney's G-Force), Sofia Vergara, Mia Maestro, Jon Secada, Carlos Ponce, Belkys Nerey, Louis Aguirre, Nestor Torres, Jaime Camil, Adriana Fonseca, Maurisio Islas and Gregg Avedon. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree was Michele Pommier. A former world-famous supermodel, she was the very first entrepreneur to see Miami Beach's potential as a global center for modeling, production and fashion photography. Her eponymous modeling agency opened in 1979 and was instrumental in raising South Florida's international reputation within the fashion and beauty industry.

Trina Robinson of NBC 6 and Aubrey Aquino joined to emcee the evening's program.
The FREC Star Gala honors dynamic industry leaders and talent who share a commitment to professional excellence and making a difference in the South Florida community. Honorees are selected by an independent panel of judges and represent those people shaping the future of the industry in South Florida and across the globe. Winners are recognized as a select group of professional who have achieved notable success and demonstrated strong leadership and success in the industry.
